Happy Wednesday!

Hi!

It's another beautiful day today—Not too hot. Not too cold. Goldilocks just-right. Unfortunately, I know that's not the case for much of the USA today with the unstable weather patterns caused by the cold fronts and warm fronts colliding.

Did I mention, I recently purchased a 9mm Sig (I normally carry a 380)? Yesterday, we cleaned our pistols. After that we went shooting. My first round of shots wasn't as good as usual, but I realized I was tensing up right before pulling the trigger (it has more kick than my 380), once I relaxed and pulled the trigger while slowly breathing out, my aim got much better. If you didn't already, now you know why I write guns with specificity in my books. I'm a concealed carry holder, and I own several different handguns.

In other news, our son got a new job offer yesterday and it's walking distance from his house, which should save him both time and gas money. That's a real blessing.

Speaking of blessings, you're a blessing to me, so if you have any prayer requests please send them. It pleases me to lift you up to our heavenly Father.

FROM MY WRITING DESK

I didn't get much writing done this week.

My focus has been pulled away by software development issues and preparing for a Kickstarter I'm going to be launching for special editions of the Pennsylvania Parks books (be on the lookout for that).

Are you a Tolkien fan? Did you see that there's a Hobbit 75th anniversary edition? How fun is that? I was thinking it would make a great gift for my eldest grandson.

FARM NEWS

A new batch of chicks arrived at Bloomsburg post office yesterday, so we went and picked them up and grabbed some chick starter feed at Tractor Supply while we were in town.

Today's video shows the unboxing.

We tried to take Sadie off her seasonal allergy pills, but after a few days, her itching returned, so she may need to take them for another month. In the meantime, we're looking at more natural remedies like chamomile and licorice root. Hopefully, we'll find something that works well for her when these itchy spells hit in the spring and fall.

I had some bananas that were a day or two past how I like them, so the goats got a treat. They love bananas (they eat them with the skins on). I gave the two goats who don't like bananas some cherry tree leaves instead.

Not much else to report on the farm front.

JESSICA ASHLEY

He loved her in silence…because loving her out loud was never an option.

Former Navy SEAL Sawyer Maddox has spent most of his life protecting others from the shadows. Calm under pressure. Loyal to the core. And painfully aware that the woman he’s always cared about is completely off-limits.

Anastasia Knox is the little sister of one of his best friends…and the one woman Sawyer has never been able to forget. She’s built a quiet life in their small coastal town, doing her best to be content with a relationship that looks right on paper. But when anonymous messages turn into late-night threats, that fragile sense of safety shatters.

Sawyer doesn’t hesitate. He moves in. Steps closer. Putting himself between Anastasia and the danger—no matter the cost. Even if it means crossing lines he swore he never would.

Because the longer he’s near her, the harder it is to ignore the truth.

She doesn’t belong with the man she’s with.

She belongs with him.
