Happy Wednesday!

Hi!

Hope all is well! Anything new?

Our son and his family are coming over for hotdogs and burgers later today. I'm looking forward to seeing them.

Did you do anything special for Independence Day?

We stayed home and had burgers on the grill. Our Callie (one of the German Shepherds) doesn't appreciate fireworks in the least, so she had to wear her thunder coat to help keep her calm.

Friday morning is women's Bible Study and we're studying the fifth chapter of Esther. I'd appreciate your prayers as I prepare for that lesson.

And, as always, if you'll reply and share your prayer requests, I'll be more than happy to lift you up in prayer.

FROM MY WRITING DESK

I don't have too much to report this week on the writing front, but I have joined in another anthology alongside Robin Patchen, Susan May Warren and several other fantastic authors, so I should be able to share a preorder link for that next week.

I spent most of the week working on author software I've been developing. That project is finally launched, so feel free to check it out. The website is https://GlyphStack.com. I have tools to take authors from brainstorming to marketing including my proprietary CASCADE plotting system.

If you missed it last week, I announced a special edition collection of the Heroes of Freedom Ridge books that Tara Grace Ericson put together. Well, amazingly enough, that collection was selected by Kickstarter as "A Project We Love." That should give it extra visibility, which is fantastic.

Let me reiterate my warning from last week: Kickstarter may recommend other projects to you. We have no control over these recommendations, which may contain content that isn't family-friendly and doesn’t align with a biblical worldview. Use your own discretion navigating the platform. And if you choose to support a project, be cautious reading emails. I prefer to stop reading after the letter from the creator in order to avoid any unpleasant advertisements at the end of the email.

FARM NEWS

Sadie visited the vet last Wednesday and got a clean bill of health. We talked about transitioning her from oral allergy medicine to a shot twice a year, but we'll wait on that until fall since her allergies only bother her twice a year—spring and fall.

She was in a playful mood last night, likely due to the cooler weather. Cassie (her barn cat) smacked her across the face when she tried to play with her. I don't blame Cass as Sadie sometimes forgets she's 105 pounds to Cassie's five pounds (I haven't weighed the cat, so I'm guessing).

The young chickens are adjusting well and have also befriended Sadie. They can often be found sticking close by her side or even gathered in her pen inside the barn (where her doghouse is and where she eats).

In other news, the goats are a bit lethargic this morning—you can check out the lazy goats in the video below. If you watch closely, you'll catch a glimpse of one of the birds (house finch) tweeting in the background near the end of the video.

CANDLE SUTTON

Danger swirls in the mists of the Puget Sound.

People are disappearing, the most recent being a young child. Nothing links the victims, except the kidnapper. FBI Special Agent Dakarai Lakes suspects the victim count will only increase… unless he and his team can stop the criminal.

His team’s newest agent might be their greatest weapon.

Special Agent Kevyn Taylor has a reputation as a mind reader. As a licensed clinical psychologist, she’s spent years honing her skills to read and predict human behavior with a high degree of accuracy. She might be the secret weapon they need to get inside the kidnapper’s head – if her rule-bending, renegade tactics don’t drive Dak crazy first.

Then the first body is found.

The kidnapper is escalating. As more people disappear, and more bodies are discovered, the team fights an unseen enemy to stop him before he kills another victim. Because if they fail, the next body found just might be one of their own.

Nameless, the thrilling first book in the Sinister Secrets trilogy, is a Christian suspense novel exploring the power of loneliness, friendship, and faith-filled living. Get your copy today!
