Happy Wednesday!

Hi!

The weather cooled off considerably, but it's supposed to warm up again this afternoon.

Yesterday, a neighbor came by asking for 'goat poop' for her garden, so I spent some time reading both of my children's picture books, There's a Goat on My Porch and Vicky's Pirate Adventure, to her little one while she scooped the poo into her wagon.

She's planning to come back for more today. If she gets here after Joe returns home from work, he's going to scoop it up for her with the tractor and drive it over to her place. He's a good man.

FROM MY WRITING DESK

I'm awaiting the delivery of books for the Danville Spring Fling coming up on May 2. An email from UPS came a few minutes ago saying they'll be here tomorrow, which is fantastic news. I always wait until the last minute to order. Then I worry that they won't arrive in time, so I'll be at a book table with no books to sell. Needless to say, that wouldn't be ideal.

In other news, the proofread of Blast Radius arrived back from the editor in time for me to take one last look and send it off to the publisher one day early (well... early for the extension date which is still technically late).

I keep telling myself that I'm not going to wind up stressing over deadlines, and that I'll have books written in plenty of time, but that NEVER happens.

Cover reveal for the anthology I wrote Blast Radius for is this coming Friday, so follow me on Instagram if you don't already so you'll see it when it's revealed. If you're not on there, I'll share it in my newsletter next Wednesday.

In the meantime, there are two other anthologies from Two Dogs Publishing's Scent of Justice collection you might find intriguing:

Hunting Truth (Volume 1): https://geni.us/HuntingTruth
Deadly Tracks (Volume 2): https://geni.us/DeadlyTracks

FARM NEWS

Sadie is eating a bit more, thankfully, but her appetite hasn't returned completely. She had a fried duck egg this morning, which pleased her. Spoiled dog.

Inside the house, the eggs we've been incubating are coming along nicely and should hatch before my next newsletter.

In other news, Farmer Joe cleaned the coops, which makes for happy chickens and ducks (not really, they don't seem to care much).

The new camera is a source of amusement lately, as I can sit in the house and watch the goats play or watch the cat and dog snuggling. It's quite fun.

Here's a video that captures goat playtime.

Time is running out...

On a damp Seattle night, Cecily Fairhaven is rescued from a mugger by the man who broke her heart, Malcolm Cruz. When she learns it’s not a coincidence that Malcolm has shown up out of the blue and that her life is in danger, she must set aside her hurt and anger to trust the man she once loved. But is she really safe? Or will she suffer another broken heart when he leaves?

US Air Force Operations of Special Investigations Agent Malcolm Cruz received a cryptic message begging him to protect Cecily. To honor the man who’d been instrumental in his career, Malcolm wasted no time traveling across the world to safeguard the only woman he’s ever loved and to ensure she makes its home to deal with her father’s estate. But as the threats against her escalate and his feelings for her resurface, he begins to wonder if either of them will come out of this unscathed.
