Happy Wednesday!

Hi!

Did I mention that my husband got a job? I guess retirement is boring for him. This is the second time he's decided to try a part-time gig. I predict he'll quit in time for summer, but we shall see.

Anyway, last night he was at work, so being the silly dog mom that I am, I opened the gate and let the German Shepherds run the pastures. I guess between the great snow melt and the couple of inches of rain we had over the past week, the pastures are more swamp than grassland. So, letting them run resulted in muddy dogs. They were covered up to their bellies. Wasn't the first time. Won't be the last.

In other news, I've been having some trouble with my neck and my shoulder (for those who don't know, I have Ehlers-Danlos Syndrome), so I had appointments with specialists today. The shoulder specialist gave me a steroid shot, so that should help for a bit, but if it doesn't improve we'll have to look into other options.

FROM MY WRITING DESK

I'm about halfway through the book I'm supposed to be turning in on April 3rd, so I could use your prayer that God will give me the words. It's not unusual for me to get the words all at once over a few weeks, so I'm hopeful this time won't be any different, and I'll be able to meet my deadline.

Robin Patchen is hosting a one question contest for Taken But Not Forsaken. The answer can be found in the first fifty pages of Twisted Lies, the first book in the collection.

Oh! The anthology is going up to full price soon, so if you haven't had a chance to grab it yet, now's a great time.

FARM NEWS

I think the goats are as keen to see the pastures dry as I am. They were way out in the front pasture when we returned from the doctors' which may be the only dry part of the pastures. I'm probably exaggerating. The riding ring and the pen area are dry, too.

Chickens and ducks aren't eating much in the morning, so I think they're finding plenty of food on their own. They're back to laying eggs, too.

A stolen biological weapon, a terror network's countdown, and two hearts caught in the crossfire when millions of lives hang in the balance.

ER nurse Sadie Kline wasn’t looking for love, or even a night out, when her roommate talked her into a blind date. She’s shocked when her date turns out to be Craig Malone, her childhood neighbor and brother’s best friend—now a Homeland Security agent. What starts as an awkward reunion spirals into danger. Craig is protecting a virologist developing an antidote to a stolen biological weapon, but when Sadie crosses paths with a suspect in her ER, she lands in the sights of a terror network with millions at stake.

As New Year’s Eve nears, threats escalate and loyalties are tested. Craig is determined to keep Sadie safe, but the bioterrorists’ midnight offensive is closing in, and failure could mean disaster.

With danger mounting and trust hard-won, Sadie and Craig must lean on faith and each other to stop the attack before midnight.
