Happy Wednesday!

Hi!

It's been a beautiful couple of days here in North Central Pennsylvania. I spent much of yesterday sitting on the screened porch enjoying the sunshine.

On Monday, Joe went to work (did I mention the bored retiree went back to work again?), so I spent the day out in the brilliant sunshine burning paper and cardboard in the burn barrel.

The trouble was there was a hole near the bottom of the barrel, and some sparks found their way out and ignited some leaves. Despite my standing right there, the fire spread too fast for me to put out easily, so I had to head inside and grab a fire extinguisher to finish the job.

It was a tad embarrassing to have to tell Farmer Joe I almost burned down the farm. He's planning to replace the barrel, and I'm pretty sure he doesn't want me to help out with his chores again.

I need to get the words down for the anthology releasing in June, but it isn't coming along as quickly as I'd like.

Last night, our Writer Warriors Accountability group met. It was nice to have a chat and catch up with my friends.

FARM NEWS

Farmer Joe had jury duty this morning, so the critters were stuck with me. I couldn't get Sadie to take her heartworm medicine despite smearing it with peanut butter and putting it back in her mouth numerous times, so he's going to have to try tonight.

Vicky Van Goat, our escape artist, managed to crawl out under the fence so she could stalk my every step while the rest of the goats remained penned up happily munching on sunflower seeds and sweet feed. 

I'm pretty sure my attempts at raking the barn weren't as good as Joe's, but at least I tried.

Currently, it's pouring outside, so at least they have a clean barn to lie around in.

This video was taken from a distance, so it's not the best quality, but I thought you'd enjoy seeing Sadie and her barn cat loving up on each other (if we walk toward them to get better video one or both of them tries to come to us and it ruins the moment).
