Happy Wednesday!

Hi!

Hope you're doing well. We're expecting a bit of a warm up with temperatures actually expected to hit the 30s and 40s during the day. It'll be a nice change.

If there is anything I can pray about for you this week, please let me know.

FROM MY WRITING DESK

The week has been a whirlwind of tech, taxes, and tales.

The hum of the computer fan filled the air as I wrestled with spreadsheets and receipt automation—a necessary evil as tax season looms. But the real excitement happened between the rows of data. I finally polished a few new scenes to send off to my Writer Warriors group. There is nothing like the heat of a deadline and the sharp eyes of fellow authors to keep a manuscript on track.

If you’re in Pennsylvania, mark your calendars. I plan to book my table for the Danville Spring Fling soon, and I would love to meet you in person. Sadly, the Benton Spring Fling is canceled this year because the bridge on Route 487 is under construction.

FARM NEWS

As usual, the goats and sheep are the stars of the show.

The biggest news is our sweet Vicky. She was feeling the Pennsylvania chill and started shivering, so she’s been sporting a brand-new coat. She looks absolutely adorable, though if you watch the video below, you’ll see Sadie doing her absolute best to steal the spotlight. Some girls just can’t handle not being the center of attention.

While I’ve been inside with the spreadsheets, Joe has been busy on the tractor. He plowed some of the fields and the riding ring to clear out the snow and give the goats more room to roam. It clearly worked—they are currently outside running around like crazy, enjoying every bit of the extra space.

Even the chickens and ducks have been able to get some quality time outside this week. There’s something so peaceful about seeing the whole crew out and about.

On the Menu This Week:

The goats and sheep have been treated to some "fine dining." They’ve been enjoying a three-course meal:

  • First Course: Sunflower seeds
  • Main Course: Plenty of hay
  • Dessert: Sweet feed

We also put out two new mineral blocks to keep them happy and occupied.

And for the sheep’s sake, we had to get a little creative. The goats had developed a bad habit of pulling at the sheep’s wool, so we gave the sheep a light spray of Neem oil. It makes the wool taste a bit "off" to the goats, which should hopefully put an end to the unwanted haircuts.
