The snow was belly high on the goats and dogs this week. I know this storm affected much of the country, so I imagine many of you dealt with snow, freezing rain and sleet. I hope you came out the other side and all is well by now. The thermometer is still registering in the single digits much of the time, so we'll be thrilled when spring makes an appearance in a few months. Funny story: I brought a bulb into the house in the fall because it was lying on top of the dirt. I kept meaning to replant it, but never got around to it. This week, it started to sprout. Odd to see the bulb (I think daffodil) trying to grow on a shelf in the mudroom. How are things out your way? Please let me know if you need prayer for anything this week.

This morning I had an author interview for the Faith and Fellowship Book Festival's YouTube channel. I'll let you know when it goes live, but it was fun chatting with LaKesha Raynor. In other news, I've updated my website with a new color scheme and updated product pages for my books. And today, I've been working on a section for recipes from my books. That part isn't live yet, but it will be by next week. If you haven't visited my website in a while, check it out at https://ElleEKay.com.

Sadly, we had a death in the livestock family on Saturday. Bessie, our beloved fainting goat left us with our hearts hurting. We adore her. You may remember the fuzzy video of her and Sadie playing or the one of the cat shying away from her. She was black and white and looked a little like a miniature cow (hence the name Bessie).
In happier news, the rest of the goats are thriving despite the cold and the snow. This week's video features goats in the snow.

Forensic artist Hannah Perry's skills make her a valuable asset to the police in solving criminal investigations. Now she's taking a much-needed vacation on a secluded island with her young son. But a young woman has been murdered. Her body unidentified. Her skull recently discovered by the police, and Hannah feels compelled to help find the killer. She decides to work on the reconstruction in the evenings while her son sleeps. But as the woman's face takes shape, an assailant invades Hannah's cabin and tries to end her life. Before he can permanently silence her, she and her son flee the island in a small boat. Trouble is, as they approach Cold Harbor, ocean waves capsize the boat, enveloping them both in cold terror.
But it also makes her the next target. Former SEAL Gage Blackwell can't believe his eyes as he plunges into the raging waters to rescue the pair. Owner of Blackwell Tactical-a law enforcement training facility and protection services agency-Gage pulls the woman he once loved from the angry ocean. When he learns of her attack, he vows to protect her while hunting down the killer. Alone and vulnerable, Hannah has to accept Gage's protection-even if it means staying close to the man who'd once walked out on her without a backward glance.
