Happy Wednesday!

Hi!

It's been an unusual week for me so far.

I broke down in tears while singing "I'll Trust the Potter's Hands" on Sunday morning. Not sure what came over me, but I couldn't finish the song. Ever have a moment like that where you feel like God is speaking to your heart and you have a moment of complete vulnerability in front of the whole congregation? No? Just me?

How was your week? Any interesting adventures to report?

Please share your prayer requests, I'd be honored to pray on your behalf.

FROM MY WRITING DESK

I've been participating in some writing sprints with my fellow authors to get back into the habit of writing. It's a great way to make sure I spend a few minutes actually working on my work-in-progress.

Those of you who are fans of the Pennsylvania Parks Series will be happy to learn that I'm finally writing the story of Grayson Garrison and Jenna. Gray's been appearing in my stories since Lawfully Held, which I wrote back in 2018. I've had a vague idea of his story (mentioned briefly in Lawfully Guarded), but I'm finally writing it down. This story will be a prequel to the Pennsylvania Parks series.

FARM NEWS

It's been brutally cold here on Genesis Goat Farm. But everyone seems to be doing okay. One of the ducks needs a little help getting to where I put their feed and water in the morning, but that's not all that unusual for her.

I'm happy to report that the swelling on Vicky Van Goat's side went down, but she was shivering from the cold last night. But considering it went down to zero, that's hardly surprising.

We gave the critters a little extra sweet feed, so they'd have enough calories to fight off the frigid temperatures. Their best bet would be to head into the hay filled stalls in the barn and cuddle up together to stay warm, but it's hard to convince them to do that.

The cat, however, needs no convincing. She knows when it's time to snuggle with all 100 lbs. of warm Maremma Sheepdog. Sadie doesn't mind though. She finds Cassie amusing. I always think it's cute watching them together, but they rarely let me get video. I do have an old one of Cassie swatting Sadie in the face. I can include that next week if you want to see it. But for today, how about some goats in the snow?

LINDA J. WHITE

Jessica Chamberlain wanted nothing more than to follow in the footsteps of her father, an NYPD officer who died rescuing people from the South Tower of the World Trade Center on 9/11. Already a homicide detective with the Fairfax County police, she’d made great strides in following that dream until one night turned her world upside down.
How in the world did the man she and her partner, Lee Park, were arresting get loose in the back seat of their car? Jess never did find out but in short succession, the subject got loose, killed her partner, Jess crashed her car, and the man escaped.
The last domino to fall was Jess’s job. Unemployed, living alone in a dingy apartment, Jess faced a bleak future. The last thing she needed was a dog, especially Lee Park’s rowdy German shepherd.
Fate, however, had other ideas.
