We had some warmer weather this week reaching into the mid-forties, so most of the ice and snow melted, but not all. We still have quite a bit of it sticking around north and east of the barn. I'm beginning to wonder if we'll be stuck with it until spring. Ever since Daisy (one of our sheep) took a fall on the ice, she's been stepping quite gingerly despite her girth. Her best bud Hannah is also staying vigilant. I hope the weather was pleasant for you this past week.

I wrote a women's fiction short story from the perspective of a woman suffering from dementia. It's definitely not my usual genre, but it's good to stretch myself from time to time with something outside of my comfort zone. I took over as the Virtual Webinar Coordinator for the American Christian Fiction Writers (ACFW). We had our virtual webinar on Monday night and that went well. Then last night my Writer Warrior Accountability Group met and we had a wonderful time of fellowship and discussion. My narrators sent over the final audio files for Midnight Offensive, so I expect the audiobook ARCs for that to go out sometime in the next month or so. First, I need to get on the ball and send out the audiobook ARCs for Project Sentinel. So, if you're on the audio ARC team, you can expect both of those soon.

Vicky Van Goat (our children's book star) has a swollen spot on her side we're keeping an eye on. I guess she's still feeling okay though as she was her usual trouble-making self this morning. She smashed her horn into the lid of one of the blue coffee cans I use for feed and busted a hole in it. All three dogs are eating more than usual. My best guess is that they need the calories to stay warm. We're running low on it, so hopefully, Chewy's will bring their dog food tomorrow. Otherwise, we'll have to run out to the store and pick some up. Joe was hoarding this video of the goats playing in the snow from the day before Christmas Eve, so I thought I'd share it today.

When Leah Miller's entire Amish family was murdered ten years ago, the person believed responsible took his own life. Since then, Leah left the Amish and joined the police force. Now, after another Amish woman is found murdered with the same MO, it becomes clear that the wrong man may have been blamed for her family's deaths.
As Leah and the new police chief, Dalton Cooper, work long hours struggling to fit the pieces together in order to catch the killer, they can't help but grow closer. When secrets from both of their pasts begin to surface, an unexpected connection between them is revealed. But this is only the beginning. Could it be that the former police chief framed an innocent man to keep the biggest secret of all buried? And what will it mean for Leah--and Dalton--when the full truth comes to light?
