Happy Wednesday!

Hi!

The birds had been stuck in their coops for the past few days due to below freezing temperatures, but it finally warmed up a little today, so they are free to spread their wings.

How's the weather in your neck of the woods? A reader responded from Hawaii last week. I remember those warm trade winds from when we honeymooned in Maui and Kauai. I'd love to return someday, if we ever find ourselves a farm sitter Sadie will be comfortable with.

FROM MY WRITING DESK

I wrote the first devotion for my Pilgrimage of Praise devotional. Writing 365 devotions will be an intensive project, but I expect the process will be rewarding, drawing me nearer to God as I write.

Here's a sample of what the book will look like after it's written and formatted. You'll see the hymn on the left and the devotion on the right. I haven't added the date headers yet (in case I move them around).

HYMN 1
JAN 1

I'm taking the rest of December off from my other writing projects, so that I can prioritize time with family, but I look forward to returning to my fiction writing in January.

The Project Sentinel audiobook is now available on my YouTube channel for channel members—members at any tier can listen now, and everyone else can access it in January.

In the meantime, I have an early Christmas gift for you: a FREE ebook copy of Midnight Offensive, along with two complimentary bonus ebooks from my author friends.

Merry Christmas!

FARM NEWS

One of the buckets cracked when Farmer Joe tried to break the ice, so we had to run to Tractor Supply for a new one. This time we bought one of the rubber ones that don't crack. I bought a smaller one of the same type for the chicken coop.

Speaking of the coops, the poo has been frozen to the plywood floors, so Farmer Joe hasn't been able to clean them. He's hoping to get out there to take care of that now that the weather has warmed up a bit.

In other news, one of our neighbors who only comes by during hunting season brings his big dogs with him, so our livestock guardian dog, Sadie, has been in a tizzy about his dogs running around in the field adjacent to our pastures. He's never stayed this long before, so we're beginning to wonder if he moved in permanently. If so, I sure hope Sadie adjusts to his dogs.
