It's snowing again! It looks beautiful, but boy has it been chilly. I can't remember the last time it was this cold in December. My brother-in-law called from sunny Florida and complained he had to put his heat on because it dropped below 72° Fahrenheit (it was 5° Fahrenheit here that morning). Ever want to throttle someone for a comment like that? As I mentioned, my aunt's funeral was on Monday. It was held in Valley Forge, and I'm not sure I've ever been as cold as I was standing in that cemetery for the graveside service (the wind was brutal). We didn't get the memo to dress casually, so we were dressed about how you'd expect for a funeral while several of the mourners were decked out in Eagles green. (Aunt Debbie was an avid Philadelphia Eagles fan.) Five hours of driving made for a long, exhausting day, but it was good to see family even though the circumstances were sad. It would've been nice to attend the gathering at my aunt's house, but driving all the way to Delaware wouldn't have left us enough time to get home in time to care for our livestock. One of these days, I'm going to find a farm sitter to solve that problem.

I attended Benton's Winterfest on Saturday. Nancy Magargle, the non-fiction author of "A Time to Die, A Time to Live" joined me at the Faith Writes Publishing table.
As seems to be the theme this week, it was frigid, but it was a wonderful day where I was blessed to meet neighbors and readers. In other news, the audiobook came in for Project Sentinel, so I'm working on getting that uploaded to retailers and prepping the video for YouTube. I'll get that out to Audiobook ARC readers in the next week or so, I hope.
Speaking of Project Sentinel, it's on sale! The ebook is regularly priced at $4.99, but it's discounted to just $0.99. Don't delay: sale ends Friday.

It's been icy outside, so I had to put the cleat attachments onto my muck boots to keep from slip-sliding away. The chickens haven't wanted to leave their coop and though the ducks have come out of theirs, they aren't particularly thrilled about the weather. They get a little annoyed when the water keeps freezing. The wild birds have been showing their appreciation for fresh water though. I only fill it in the morning, so they have to get it before it freezes. Our deer visitors are still hanging around the yard between the screen porch and the north side of the barn, but there isn't much there for them to eat. Joe tossed a slice of hay out there, and they've picked at it a little, but I think they prefer the grass which requires quite a bit of digging in the snow. I didn't have time for a video, but I'll be sure to get a good one for you for next week.
