It's been an emotional week for many of us. The public assassination of Charlie Kirk, the Christian content creator, author, and Turning Point USA founder, has hit the faithful hard. In the aftermath, many are finding their voices and feeling called to stand up against evil and speak truth boldly, just as Charlie did. I've been mourning this week. Though I didn't know him personally, I frequently watched his content and my heart is broken for his wife Erika and their young children. Charlie is with his Savior now, and his life—and even his death—is having an impact he couldn't begin to fathom. Lord willing, may this tragedy be the catalyst for a revival like we've never seen before. Please let me know if there's anything you'd like me to pray for. It's always a privilege to lift you up before the Lord.

This Morning's Farm Drama... The animals were extra entertaining this morning. Our farm cat Cassie has apparently decided that Bessie—our sweetest, most docile fainting goat—is suddenly public enemy number one. I have no idea what brought on this dramatic change of heart, but Cassie now treats poor Bessie like she's some kind of farm monster instead of the gentle soul she actually is. Meanwhile, Laverne was up to her usual antics, nearly bowling over our special Tom turkey who was just trying to mind his own business. And wouldn't you know it, Vicky Van Goat was looking for another golden opportunity for a great escape attempt under the fence. A bit silly since I was holding the gate open for her to exit. Sneaky little thing thought she was being so clever. The real star of the morning, though, was Sadie our Maremma. She's supposed to be our fierce livestock guardian, but she spent the entire time glued to my side hoping for more cookies. Some guard dog! Good thing the biggest threat around here is apparently a fainting goat scaring a barn cat. Never a dull moment on Genesis Goat Farm.

The audiobook for Inspired by the Hero hit my inbox. If you're on my audiobook ARC team. Keep a lookout for it. I expect to send it out some time this week. My writing is moving along, albeit slowly. I need to get the words down for both Clearing the Cowboy's Name and Midnight Masquerade so I can get both books off to their respective editors.

Excerpt from Wooing the Widower

Margie hid inside the wheel of the enormous tractor and fingered the handful of items she’d managed to snag from the workbench trying to figure out what she’d pilfered. One of the pieces of metal felt like a hinge. It had a ragged edge where it must’ve rusted through. If she could position it right, she might be able to use it to saw through the duct tape. Keeping her breathing even so her tormenter wouldn’t find her before she freed herself. “This game is getting old. Where are you?” The whistled tune of “There was a Farmer, had a dog” switched to lyrics and sang in a singsong voice “There was a farmer, had a tramp. Here a squeak, there a clunk, everywhere a squeak, clunk.” The footsteps moved closer, and Margie bit down on her lip, tasting her own blood.

She’s hiding her dreams. He’s chasing a connection to his past. Neither expects love to find them. When small-town motel owner Randi Hollis sets her heart on restoring a long-abandoned inn, she keeps her plans—and her heart—under lock and key. But when a stranger arrives with ties to the very property she hopes to buy, her carefully laid plans begin to unravel.
|
|
John Morgan has known about the inn his entire life. It’s a piece of family history he’s always been curious about—but this is his first time in Two Hearts, Tennessee. When his visit brings him face-to-face with a woman who has her own vision for the inn, things get a little complicated … and a lot more interesting.
Perfect for fans of feel-good romance with heart, humor, and the wonder of finding home.
