Happy Wednesday!

Hello there,

Hope you're doing well! I'm playing a bit of catch-up after falling behind on this week's planned work, but otherwise all is good.

Please reach out with any prayer requests. I'd be honored to pray on your behalf.

FARM NEWS

Farmer Joe (who spent most of his life as Carpenter Joe) redid our deck this week, installing Trex with vinyl railings that looks absolutely fabulous. Despite working on the deck most of yesterday, he still found time last evening to clean the coops. The man works non-stop.

On the goat front, Penny and a couple of the other girls got into it with each other, and her broken horns started bleeding. We treated her horns with Blue Kote and gave her some alone time in a stall for several hours so everyone could calm down and forget whatever drama started the whole thing. Peace has been restored.

Our broody hen, the same one who thinks she's a duck, has abandoned her eggs and returned to her favorite perch in the duck/turkey house. Probably for the best since we think she was sitting in a puddle anyway.

Last night, Sadie was quite barky, which means something was lurking around that needed to be told where to go. Your guess is as good as mine what that was. It's been a while since I shared that hilarious Maremma video (not my own), so if you want to see what life with a Maremma Sheepdog is really like, check it out. I really need to make something similar featuring our girl.

FROM MY WRITING DESK

I'm still working my way through the first draft of Midnight Masquerade. I'm also planning to write a prequel to either the Toxic Truths series or the Pennsylvania Parks series.

You decide! Hit reply and tell me which one you think I should write first. The one with the most votes wins.

Craig grinned and stopped in front of her, blocking her path. “What kind of welcome is that, sunshine?”

“Sunshine?”

“I was trying it on for size. Isn’t that what your dad used to call you?”

“You are so not him.”

“Nevertheless, I think I like it.”

“Why are you here?”

“Can’t a guy walk the corridors of a hospital without getting questioned by the staff?”

She put a hand on her waist and waited for an answer.

“We have a tip that a guy we’re looking for was brought in the other night after a multi-car accident involving a bus. Gave a fake name to police at the scene, but facial recognition was run on the officer’s dash cam footage, and we think it’s him.”

“Him who?”

“Wouldn’t you like to know, sweetheart?”

“Stop it with the nicknames. I’m Sadie. I’ve always been Sadie. I’ll always be Sadie.”

“Okay, Sadie. The guy’s a doctor, but he’s not the Mr. Nice Guy type. He created something bad and then absconded with it. We need to take him into custody before he follows through with some pretty awful plans.”

“I think you can probably be a bit more specific.”

“Wish I could, but…”

“It’s classified.”

“Yep.”
