Happy Wednesday!

Hello there,

Hope you had a pleasant week.

I'm writing from the screen porch, watching our chickens mingle with the wild birds. With the ceiling fan spinning overhead, it's one of those perfect days that makes you grateful for simple pleasures.

We had quite the excitement this week when a rather large black bear paid us a visit a couple of days ago. I might never have spotted him if the dogs hadn't started their urgent barking in his direction.

The day before his arrival, we had our own little wildlife drama when a precious fawn got herself stuck inside the pasture. I opened the gate wide for her, but she had her own ideas about the best escape route. She eventually snuck out under the fence instead of taking the easy path I'd offered. Her mama stood watch outside the fence with her other fawn, observing the whole escapade. Something tells me she knew I was trying to help.

As always, if you have anything you'd like me to pray about, please reply and let me know. It's a privilege to lift you up in prayer.

Have a fabulous Independence day!

FARM NEWS

Sadie, our livestock guardian dog (she's a Maremma sheepdog), had her annual veterinary appointment on Monday. Despite her regular Lyme shots and our diligent tick prevention measures, she's tested positive for a form of Lyme disease. Thankfully, she's not showing any symptoms yet, so we're in watch-and-wait mode for now. The doctor also suggested a new allergy medicine for her to try next spring when her seasonal allergies return with a vengeance.

Tom turkey seemed to be rallying for a while, but I think he's decided his shelf in the coop is the perfect spot to spend his days. He's been up there yesterday and today. I may venture out shortly to see if I can coax him down for a bit.

Otherwise, it's been a quiet week on the farm.

FROM MY WRITING DESK

I'm getting ready to dive into my next writing project and would deeply appreciate any prayers you're willing to offer. I'm seeking God's guidance on which project to tackle first and asking for His help to follow whatever path He has planned.

The preorder is now live for my next contribution to the Christmas in Redemption Ridge series: Clearing the Cowboy's Name, releasing November 19, 2025. This season's additions will bring the series to 18 titles total, and we'll be wrapping up this beloved series with these final books.

JENNIFER YOUNGBLOOD

I haven't had a chance to read this one yet, but I'm really looking forward to it. Have you read anything by Jennifer Youngblood? I've only read one of her romance titles so far, but it was fantastic. I keep hearing wonderful things about her romantic suspense novels from readers whose taste I trust, which makes me even more eager to get started on this one.

She thought she was falling in love.
Until the man she trusted shattered her heart.
And then the threats began ...

Jules Sterling wasn’t looking for romance when she met Brock Ellis—the rugged former Navy SEAL assigned to protect her sister from a stalker. But from the moment they met, sparks flew fast and hot.

Now she’s in deeper than she ever intended… and something feels off.

Brock is pulling away. Distant. Distracted. And when Jules learns the devastating reason why, her world tilts. Reeling from heartbreak, she tries to move forward—even as shadows from her past begin to creep closer.

A patient’s death at the surgical center where Jules works has triggered a storm she never saw coming. Now, strange things are happening. The threats are real. And someone’s watching her.

Brock walked away from Jules once. But when danger closes in, walking away isn’t an option. He'll risk everything to protect her.

Even if she no longer believes she can trust him.

A gripping, emotional romantic suspense where second chances come at a high price—and trusting the wrong person could be deadly.
