Hope you had a fantastic week! The warm weather has officially arrived. We jumped from the 40s straight to the 90s! While some might complain about the heat, I'll take 90 degrees over 40 any day. The pastures have dried out enough after weeks of rain that we're finally letting the dogs get some exercise out there. It's always fun watching the birds this time of year. The barn swallows hatched some little ones, and wild birds have been bringing their babies to the feeders. In other farm news: we have a duck who keeps getting stuck in a bucket, and we've been coaxing our turkey out of the coop each morning so he can find shade for the day. Not much else is new. The goats, sheep, and livestock guardian dog are taking it easy in the heat. They'll be happy when temperatures drop back to 70 on Friday.

This is a historical romance with a salvation story. I had a hard time putting it down. Lady Hathwell comes to the US to meet a marriage prospect, but upon finding out he plans to keep his paramour, she leaves hoping to find a place on her uncle's farm. Only problem is women aren't welcome there, so she plays the part of a young man, and learns that wearing britches isn't all it's cracked up to be.
