Happy Wednesday!

Hello there,

Hope you had a wonderful week.

With Farmer Joe off working during the day, I really don’t have much of an excuse not to get my own work done. But honestly? Some days it feels like I’m always trying to catch up. Ever feel that way?

Lately, I’ve had to remind myself to be still—to pause and refocus on God. The enemy loves to keep me busy with things that don’t really matter. But when I shift my focus to the eternal, I know I’m on the right track.

Thank you for your replies last week letting me know you received my newsletter. I truly appreciate every one.

If there’s something on your heart this week, hit reply and let me know how I can pray for you. I’d be honored to lift you up.

FARM NEWS

Farm life has been lively this week.

The sheep had their trims and pedicures—a yearly event. Since then, they've been surprisingly playful for their advanced age. Monday, both of them were running around with the goats like they were lambs again. I wish I’d been able to get a video for you, but we were watching from the house, and the quality would’ve been terrible.

The barn swallows have claimed the barn again. Not completely, of course—but they sure make themselves known. They’re active and noisy every time we go in there. It should be interesting once their babies arrive; that’s when they start swooping at the cat to keep her away. We always enjoy watching their antics.

Tom Turkey’s still limping. He hurt his foot about a month ago, and because he won’t let me help him in or out of the coop—stubborn bird—he keeps aggravating the injury. It breaks my heart to see him hurting.

Not much else is new on the farm right now, but I’ll keep you posted.

FROM MY WRITING DESK

If you missed last week’s email, you may not have seen that Midnight Offensive released last Wednesday. The reviews have started rolling in, and some of them have truly touched my heart.

Here’s one that meant a lot to me.

Sharon, one of my advanced readers, shared this review on my website bookstore:

"What can I say. Edge of your seat Christian suspense novel with a touch of romance. Is anyone safe? Who can keep a secret? I read it in a couple of days.

The plot has so many twists and turns it kept you guessing as to who you could trust, and what the final outcome for everyone would be.

As usual Elle’s faith and trust in an Almighty God shines through. The characters are challenged as to who they see as in control and causes them to examine their relationship with God. I always enjoy seeing how she introduces different scriptures to illustrate the need to put God in the centre of every day living no matter what the challenges are, she makes the Bible come alive thank you."

EXCERPT FROM MIDNIGHT OFFENSIVE

When Craig had mentioned trusting God, she should’ve done so, but she couldn’t bring herself to let go of control. The truth was she didn’t have any control anyway. It was an illusion. The kidnapper probably planned to kill her mother no matter what she did.

Her door was wrenched open and Craig pulled her out of the vehicle and into his arms. He held her for a long moment before wiping her tears away.

“I need you to trust me, Sadie.” His eyes searched hers. “If we’re going to have any chance of beating these guys, I need you on my side, not theirs.”

She sniffled. “I am on your side. I’ve always been on your side.”

“Never do that to me again.”

“How did you find out, anyway?”

“Hotel surveillance. You were acting weird, and you wouldn’t tell me why, so I found out on my own.”

“You spied on me.” Her bottom lip popped out, but she couldn’t be mad. Not really. She was relieved that he knew.

“And I’d do it again if it’s the only way to protect you. Even from yourself.”

MADISON LOVE

A reformed bad boy, an heiress with a secret, and a forbidden love.

Blake
Groomed to run my father’s company, I dream of flying down the speedway. Not "flying" a desk.

Forbidden from chasing my dream, I spend my free time helping kids chase theirs while waiting for fate to claim me.

It’s not until Ryder and I collide—literally—that I know I have to break free and take control of my own destiny. But if I do, it could cost me my family.

Ryder
I thought I could forget my past, but one crash with my archnemesis changed everything.

Now, I’m forced into community service and facing the consequences of my recklessness—both on and off the track.

Slowing down isn’t easy, and losing isn’t in my nature. Yet, when she walks through the door, I have only one goal.
Win her heart.

Will I end up losing mine in the process?
