Hello there, 👋

As the year comes to a close, there are two important updates to note:

Revision to Chocolate Finance Account's Return

Firstly, Chocolate Finance has revised its return, and you can now earn $928 yearly for your first $50,000 balance. Although this is a downward revision, I still feel it's a happy place to park some spare cash without any hassle.

Last Chance for Tax Relief

This is also your last chance to top up your CPF Special, Retirement, or MediSave Account to enjoy tax relief for next year's tax assessment. To help you make the most of this opportunity, I have written a comprehensive article on the CPF Retirement Sum Topping-Up Scheme, or RSTU in short.

If you prefer a simpler explanation on how this scheme works, I have also created a 6-minute video that breaks it down in an easy-to-understand way.

Why I ❤️ RSTU

The RSTU remains as one of my key retirement planning strategies. This is because it combines high risk-free interest, tax benefits, and lifelong retirement income. By consistently topping up my own Special Account and transferring unused savings over from my OA, I have calculated that I will reach the prevailing FRS in under 10 years. Doing so enables me to secure a reliable income stream that is sufficient to meet my retirement expenditure.

Should You Top Up Your SA/RA?

Ask yourself these 3 questions:

  1. Do you want a safe and predictable way to grow your retirement savings?
  2. Do you want to enjoy tax relief for your savings?
  3. Do you need more income during retirement?

If you answered "yes" to any of these, consider topping up your SA/RA or transferring unused savings from your OA to your SA/RA. Check out my full blog article or YouTube video to learn more. 👇

A New Chapter for My Blog

As my blog continues to grow, I need to ensure that I can continue to provide the best possible content and experience. One of the biggest changes I have made is switching to a new email marketing sofware. It has been a journey and I am excited to share this with you!

When I first started writing, I was determined to keep costs low. As a result, I opted for a self-hosted email marketing solution. Although it was reliable and affordable, I could foresee potential performance issues in the long run.

After trying out a new email marketing software for over a year, I'm confident this is the right choice for my blog and for delivering fast and reliable content to your inbox safely.

If you are receiving this email, you are already on this new software. But please let me know if you encounter any broken links.

Thank you so much for your support, and have a lovely weekend! =)

Cheers,
Zhe Liang
